School board members are elected during the November General Election in even-numbered years. Members serve four-year terms, with either three or four members elected during each election cycle. All Faribault Public Schools Board of Education members are elected at-large.

Congratulations to our selected Roosevelt SOAR council who will help lead Roosevelt Elementary School and make a difference by being a voice for all students. Students were asked to turn in an application stating "why" they wanted to represent Roosevelt; a few students shared, "I care about making Roosevelt a better place to be for everyone." "I want to be part of more events and be creative in our planning." "I want to take Roosevelt even higher as we SOAR through the sky to success." "I want every kid to have an amazing time at school." Roosevelt's SOAR council is led by: Mrs. Isaacson, Mrs. Mens, Mr. Ries, Mrs. Lund, and Mr. Vosejpka.
Not only do we offer online classes for our students, but we also have a comprehensive program called Falcons Online Academy that is open to any 7th through 12th-grade students in Minnesota! This dynamic program provides unparalleled flexibility, allowing students to craft their own schedules and choose between part-time or full-time enrollment. Whether students are balancing jobs, extracurricular activities, or other commitments, FOA empowers them to tailor their education to fit their unique needs.
What sets Falcons Online Academy apart is our team of dedicated, local educators. Our experienced teachers, who live in or around Faribault, are not only available for virtual instruction but also offer the option for in-person meetings when necessary. This personal touch ensures that students receive the support they need, both online and offline. Introducing our 24-25 Faribault High School Peer Group Connection! This is a cross-age, peer-to-peer group mentoring program for 9th-grade students, designed to facilitate the transition from middle to high school and to develop social and emotional skills, enhance student engagement, and improve educational outcomes. The program includes 18 weekly 45-minute outreach sessions for 9th-grade students. Principal Joel Olson said, " This program is creating a place for our students to find connections and ultimately find personal success in our school."

Students who will be in 12th grade this fall are required by law to have a second meningitis shot or a notarized immunization exemption form on file. Students should have had their first shot in the series before the start of 7th grade. Any students who have immunization exemption forms on file will need to fill out a new form for this fall. At the April 26 school board meeting, our board approved the Falcons Forward Vision 2024 plan. Falcons Forward is our district’s plan to accelerate learning and provide additional support for our students over the next three years, using the funds provided through the American Rescue Plan.
Falcons Forward focuses on addressing the following three strategies outlined in our strategic plan:
- Focusing on the social and emotional well-being and safety of students and staff.
- Providing a high-quality education for every student.
- Addressing individual student learning in innovative and challenging ways.
To address these strategies, we’re allocating resources to three areas: Student support, online school, and facilities and accessibility.
Student Support
We will add one additional social worker at each school and one additional counselor at the middle school so every student and family can get the support they need to navigate the issues the pandemic has brought to their personal and academic lives. We will add 11 teachers across the elementary schools and middle school, which will lower class sizes by an average of four students per class, allowing for more individualized instruction, personalized learning and interventions.
We will add two paraprofessionals to build relationships and help maintain a positive and safe culture at the middle school.
We will add an EL teacher at the Area Learning Center to provide on-site support for students and staff.
We will add two high school teachers in the areas of math/technology and FACS to meet the high demand for classes in those subject areas.
Falcons Online Academy
We will add an online learning coordinator and five K-12 teachers to serve as mentors, coaches and facilitators for our online learners.
Facilities and Accessibility
We will make upgrades to Jefferson Elementary that will create an enhanced learning environment.
We’ve hired multilingual office personnel to assist non-English speaking students and families at the district office.
We will provide additional bus routes so all high school students who live over one mile from school have access to transportation.
We will strengthen our early-childhood program by:
- Updating the curriculum
- Adding a multi-sensory room and equipment
- Hiring an outreach professional to work with community partners and engage families.
In addition to the above additions that are part of Falcons Forward, we’ve also committed $1 million toward summer learning acceleration using previous COVID-19 relief funds. This will allow for enhanced Summer STEAM programming and credit recovery opportunities for secondary students.

Once on the Taxslayer page, if you don’t have an existing account, you can click the continue button and then select “Create an account.” Once you have created an account, you can log in and begin filling out your tax documents.
Those using this FSA program’s TaxSlayer software should understand that they are responsible for the electronic filing they complete and submit through the software provided. FSA volunteers Vicky Coon (vcoon@faribault.k12.mn.us) and Kate Geary (kgeary@faribault.k12.mn.us) are available to answer questions.
