Levy absentee voting now open

Voters in Independent School District 656 can begin casting their ballots on the levy referendum questions that were approved by the school board on July 22. Information about the Nov. 5 levy referendum is available at https://www.faribault.k12.mn.us/district/2019_operating_levy_resources_and_information.

Voters do not need a reason to vote by absentee ballot, which is an option through Nov. 4.

Absentee ballots can be completed in person at the district office in Faribault at 710 17th St. SW. District office hours are 7:30 a.m.-4:p.m. Monday through Friday.

To absentee vote by mail, voters may download an absentee ballot application form on the district website (https://www.faribault.k12.mn.us/district/2019_operating_levy_resources_and_information/absentee_voting) and mail the completed application as directed in the application materials. Once an application is received and processed, an absentee ballot will be mailed to the voter along with instructions for completing and returning the ballot in the postage-paid envelope that is provided.

If the person applying for an absentee ballot is not registered to vote, a voter registration application must be completed and mailed or delivered to the Faribault Public Schools District Office.  An absentee ballot application will then be mailed.  Once that application is returned, an absentee ballot will be mailed.  Voter registration can also be completed online at www.mnvotes.org

On election day, eligible voters can cast their ballot at their designated polling location. For more information about where you vote, go to www.mnvotes.org or call the district office at 507-333-6010.
