About Faribault Public Schools
Faribault Public Schools (Independent School District No. 656) is a cornerstone of the Faribault community. Our diverse city of about 25,000 residents lies 50 miles south of the Twin Cities metropolitan area, along Interstate 35. We serve around 3,100 students from Faribault and its surrounding areas. We operate three elementary schools (K-5), one middle school (6-8), one high school (9-12), an alternative learning center, an online 7-12 school, early childhood programming, and lifelong learning opportunities through Faribault Adult Education. Together with our families and community, Faribault Public Schools empowers every student to reach their full potential. We set high expectations while providing the support and relationships necessary for students to thrive. We believe in fostering a sense of community within every classroom, building, and team. Our diverse population—reflecting a range of socioeconomic backgrounds, cultures, family origins, ethnicities, languages, and learning styles—prepares students for success in the real world. Our school leaders strongly support this shared commitment.
