If a Falcon Flex Day is called

Falcon Flex Day Procedures:

Please check your student’s SeeSaw or Schoology account for assignments and additional communications from teachers. Teachers will do their best to upload assignments as soon as possible. We ask that teachers post assignments by 10:00 a.m. and are accessible to students and parents from 10:00 a.m. to 3 p.m. 

School day:

• School buildings are closed, there will be no in-person classes. Elementary and pre-k students should check their take home folders or binders for e-learning work that teachers have given to students in advance. Middle school and high school students should log into their Schoology accounts from home for their assignments for the day. 
• Kids World child care is canceled/closed. 
• All daytime and after school Community Education programs including Falcons Beyond are canceled/closed.
• Adult Basic Education classes are canceled. 
• All sport events and after school activities are cancelled. 

If there is a two-hour delayed start

• All K-12 schools will start exactly two hours later.  
• Buses will run two hours later.

Kids World Program

• All Kids World sites will be open 2 hours late starting at 8:30 a.m.

McKinley Early Childhood Center

• AM pre-school cancelled, ECFE classes will start exactly two hours later.

Community Education

• Morning classes are cancelled but evening classes will be held.

Adult Basic Ed Program

• Morning classes are cancelled but evening classes will be held.
   

If school is dismissed early

• All K-12 students will be released at designated release time.
• All afternoon and evening sport events and school activities are cancelled. 

Kids World Program

• There will be afternoon Kids World at each site for 1 hour after school closes.
• We will be open for early closes with the understanding that parents will pick their child/children up as soon as possible and sites will close 1 hour after school closes.

McKinley Early Childhood Center

• PM pre-school cancelled, ECFE classes will end at designated release time.

 Community Education

• Classes are cancelled.

Adult Basic Ed Program

• Classes are cancelled and building is closed. 

During winter season, always be sure to dress your child warmly for the bus stop or the walk to school. Buses may occasionally be delayed with bus pick-up times due to weather conditions and bus stops may need to be modified depending on road conditions in your area. Decisions to close school buildings and implement a Falcon Flex Day or delay schools will be made as soon as possible. Please look for announcements the day before a winter storm or by 6:00 a.m. the day of the closing or delay of school. Please check the notification sources listed below.
