An Invitation from Superintendent Todd Sesker

Dear community,

Faribault Public Schools’ mission is to empower, energize and engage all our students through our commitment to a quality education and by creating an effective learning environment. One of the ways we support that mission is by maintaining high-quality facilities and technologies that meet the needs of our students. Safe, secure, up-to-date facilities support our staff and play an integral role in the success of our students as we strive to equip them with the skills they need to thrive in a rapidly-changing world.

A task force comprised of community members met seven times from June to November to evaluate our school district’s facilities. During that time we also reached out to our students, staff members, local business owners, and additional groups of community members, both in person and online, to gather input and learn more about how you feel about our facilities.

With each group we reviewed the task force’s findings, which state that our school facilities still have four primary areas of need: Safety and security, educational alignment, early learning, and deferred maintenance. You can view the task force's findings here.

Taking into account those findings and needs statements, as well as the community’s feedback, the task force collaborated with Wold Architects and Engineers at their Nov. 15 meeting to formulate potential solutions to our facilities needs. I welcome the opportunity to share their proposals and recommendations with you, as well as listen to your feedback and answer any questions you may have from 6-7 p.m. on Dec. 18 when we will host a Community Facilities Update at the district office at 710 17th St. SW. We want everyone to have their voice heard as we work together to build a strong foundation for the future of Faribault Public Schools.
