Welcome to the Faribault Public School Continuing Education webpage. Under the resources one will find the continuing education application, the different clock hour categories, and the renewal requirement grid. Also, there is a generic CEU (continuing education unit) certificate for experiences that may not give a formal certificate but meet requirements for a licensure area. One can have the presenter verify your attendance by signing the form.
Starting Fall of 2020 CEU applications will only be accepted using the Google Form found in the resources. An application for each different category will need to be completed with upto 10 CEUs being attached. One will be required to indicate if any of the CEUs meet the mandatory requirements. CEUs can be attached as a pdf or a jpeg.
When renewing a teaching license one needs to submit 125 CEUs related to one’s licensure areas. In addition there are mandatory requirements that must be submitted in the following areas: Positive Behavioral Intervention Strategies, accommodations and modifications, reading preparation, mental illness in children, suicide prevention, English language learners best practices, and cultural competency.
The Minnesota Professional Educator Licensing and Standards Board (PELSB) is your one stop to renew all types of existing licenses, track the status of an application, or to view your clock hour record. Here is the link to PELSB: https://mn.gov/pelsb/
The Continuing Education Committee meets at least four times a year. On the first Monday of the month a meeting is held the committee will process any applications and record the CEUs online at the PELSB website.
Questions can be directed to the committee by emailing Continuing Education.
