Grow Your Own

Applicants must meet one or more of these criteria:

• Have graduated from Faribault Public Schools
• Be a parent of a Faribault Public Schools current student or graduate
• Live within the Faribault Public School district boundaries; and/or
• Be a current Faribault Public Schools employee
• Up to $7,500 per year in tuition assistance and/or stipends to assist with other living or college costs
• One-on-one advising support throughout the program
• Connection with a mentor teacher

Students interested in the Grow Your Own Student Pathway must meet the following requirements:

• Be a current student enrolled in Faribault Public Schools in grades 6–12.
• Have an interest in exploring teaching, education, or working with younger students.
• Be willing to participate in program activities such as lunch and learn sessions, college visits, after-school clubs, summer experiences, or paid work opportunities.
• Commit to attending biweekly academic check-ins for academic support, goal setting, and postsecondary planning.
• Demonstrate a commitment to continuing education after high school.

Scholarship Eligibility (Grades 11–12 Only):

• Students must be in 11th or 12th grade.
• Students must identify as Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color (BIPOC).

Additional eligibility criteria may apply for specific opportunities such as paid work experiences or scholarships. Participation is encouraged for students from backgrounds underrepresented in the teaching profession.
